January catch up....happy birthday Jerra!

In an attempt to catch up with our blog - I am going to do just a few shots of Jan....even though I have TONS of pictures.

January 10th was Jerra's 3rd birthday. 3rd! I can't believe its been 3 years since we welcomed her to our family. She is such a character and has such a personality. She is drama and diva all rolled into one. She loves to dress up as princesses (almost an every day occurrence), dance around the family room, hide with daddy, and play with her friends. She ADORES her sister and is constantly kissing her and saying, "you are my best girl ever." (so stinkin cute!) She amazes us daily on the comments that come out of her mouth - where does she hear some of this stuff!? She is smart as a whip and remembers EVERYTHING! She knows all the days of the week, how to spell her name, the pledge of allegiance and we are working on the Aggie War Hymn!

We had her party at a place here in town called Powersports - its a gymnastics/dance gym. She attends Mother's Day Out there twice a week and has really learned a lot from there. We invited all the neighborhood kids as well as her friends from her other Mother's Day out program that she attends at Christ United Methodist Church. All the kids had so much fun!

A Belated Merry Christmas from our family!

SOOOO - we had a family picture taken, Geoff and I created the card and I had them printed! And STILL they sit on my desk....I even put them in envelopes! So - here is our Christmas card that none of you got! I guess I will try and be better at this next year! I was thinking of everyone and loved getting all the cards from our family and friends....I just never made it to the post office with ours!
Merry Belated Christmas from the Spahr's!

Christmas - part 2

Well, I didn't get Part 2 up as quickly as I hoped...we took a little mini-vacation and headed to Michigan last week. I uploaded almost 1000 pictures to my snapfish account yesterday to include all of 2010 up to date! WOW! i have some serious blogging to do!

So, here goes with the last of 2009!

Jerra and Jorja after church and before we started opening our presents. I have never opened presents on christmas eve, but Geoff wanted to give it a try - figured that it would be too overwhelming for jerra in the morning to open all our gifts as well as have Santa's presents there...It worked out well. I think next year we will just have to start earlier in the evening!

dinner before presents!

Jerra wearing a gift from grandma/grandpa (she LOVES dressing up) and opening her guitar from daddy

she insisted that daddy get his guitar and play with her!

setting out the milk/cookies/carrots for Santa and his reindeer

checking out Santa's gifts! She was pretty specific with what she wanted from Santa - a princess bike, new glass slippers and a new kitty cat. Santa delivered! and she was thrilled!
We had to go out and try out the bike as soon as we could.

So happy! and SO big!

One More Day… (Daily Reminder for Busy Moms)

*This morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

*I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

*I will laugh when I feel like crying and take a deep breath when the day and all the worries of the future feel too overwhelming.

*I will smile every time your beautiful eyes look into mine, and every time you speak I will listen attentively, for your voice is music to my ears.

*This afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

*I will jump in puddles with you and make mud pies until we are both covered in our creations.

*I will not raise my voice or grumble under my breath as I try to focus your attention on the task at hand or call your name for the second time.

*I will not worry about what you are going to do when you grow up, or second-guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

*This evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

*We will have a water fight at bath time until my clothes are completely soaked and our laughter is deafening.

*I will hold you in my arms and tell you the story about how you were born and how much I loved you from the very beginning.

*As I run my fingers through your hair, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given, and I will tell you over and over how much I love you.

*I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their child's grave instead of their bedroom, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.

*And when I kiss you good night, I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day..............
