Jorja's 2nd birthday party!

We held Jorja's 2nd birthday party at our neighborhood park. The kids got to play for a while and then finsihed it off with some cake!

Jorja loves Dora! (which is strange, cause she doesn't watch the tv show, she just gets excited when she sees items with Dora on it)

Jorja has a little crush on our neighbor, Jake. She calls him "my Jake" and screams with excitement when she sees him. We think they have bonded cause they are both the middle child with an older sister and younger brother. Here she is pushing him on the swings

I'm two!

Candy favors

Jerra's Godfather, Case, came in town - both girls A.D.O.R.E. him. Jorja was asking to kiss 'uncle case' goodnight for days after he left.

Marriage advice for women

Marriage advice from a blogger I found today.

1. Be the type of wife you’d want your son to be married to.

2. Smile at him.

3. Be forgiving.

4. Be direct……but kindly. Men can’t read minds and neither can we.

5. Be excited to see him when he comes home.

6. Allow him to have alone time.

7. Be an encourager.

8. Don’t nag…honestly it doesn’t work and only hurts the relationship.

9. Give him grace, you aren’t the perfect wife and he isn’t the perfect husband.

10. Pray for him and allow God to work in his life.

11. Remember you are not his Holy Spirit

12. There is only one “Prince Charming” and his name is Jesus…release your husband from the burden of fulfilling all your needs…..he can’t. Only Jesus can.

Big Girl Bed!

We got Jorja's new bed Tuesday evening and put it up Wednesday afternoon, thinking that we'd give her a week or so to get use to it being in her room. She had other ideas though and threw A FIT Wednesday night when I tried to put her in her crib for bedtime. Crying and saying "big girl, big girl" (we had been calling it her 'big girl bed') Sooooo, I gave in and put her down in the bed, thinking I would be in for a long night of up and down....but, she fell asleep quickly and slept through the night! yay Jorja!

So today, I went ahead and took down the crib. Tonight was the same, she was excited to go to bed and fell asleep quickly. She is growing up so fast. I am proud and a bit sad at the same time!

A walk to the park

We take walks to the park on a fairly regular basis. The girls love swinging and playing on the playground.

Jerra loves riding her bike there, and now that she is training-wheel free, she has become an expert rider!

Jorja says: NO MORE PICTURES MOM!
But Bradyn will smile for the camera!

Seriously Mom, no more pictures....
My little future photographer

Finally made it to the swings!

Happy Birthday Jorja Lynn!

On Saturday, july 9th, our Jorja turned 2! how did that happen?!

We had so much going on this weekend, that we have her party planned for this coming Saturday -- but we did go out for pizza for lunch to celebrate! We love you so much Jorja!

Bradyn was not that impressed with the pizza...

Stay tuned for birthday party pictures soon!

cause we're the 3 best friends...

Ok, so maybe not in the "Hangovery"-type of friends, but here is Jerra and her 2 BFF's: Lexi and Jenna. The 3 of them go to pre-school together at Christ United Methodist Church and they have attached themselves to each other. It was Alexis' 4th birthday this past weekend and her party was at Powersports. It's been a month since school got out and they've seen each other, but as soon as they were together they followed each other around at the gym. So cute!

(and notice they are all wearing dresses....what is it about this age and dresses!? Jerra won't wear anything but a dress...)

Horseback riding

Jerra went to a birthday party this past Saturday of one of her neighborhood friends. It was held at a local horse ranch and she had THE BEST TIME! The smile was plastered to her face. She would take her turn riding one and then get right back in line to go again.

(thanks for the Cowboy Boots Aunt Bebe! They were perfect!)

4 and 4

My Favorite 4 year old and 4 month old...I can only pray they remain this sweet- lol!

Summer treats...

In Texas, in July, we eat our yogurt frozen....(we actually eat it frozen most of the year, but its super hot out these days, so it's a welcomed treat!)

Bradyn's newborn pictures

http://butterflychaserphotography.blogspot.com/2011/04/bradyn.html

Bradyn's newborn pictures on "Butterfly Chaser Photography"'s blog. Go and check them out!

We've had his 3 month pictures (& Jorja's 2 year pictures) taken already and just waiting to get those back - so get enough of the newborn ones in now! He is growing SO fast!

Houston Zoo....June

Geoff works from the house - but his company's main office is in Houston and he has to travel there once every other week or so. We decided to go with him one Wednesday and I took the kids to the Houston Zoo while he was working. We met up with Poppy Bill and Ms Becky and had a wonderful time walking around with the kids. (despite the HEAT). Jerra was into everthing,...Jorja took a while to warm up to the big animals being so close...and Bradyn, he slept through most of it! LOL.

Petting the goats in the childrens zoo part. We spun through this pretty quickly - we were hot and on a mission to find ice cream!

Jerra got to feed a giraffe thanks to Poppy Bill. It was pretty neat being so close to one and Jerra loved feeding it its lettuce leaves.

Notice the baby elephant to the right in this picture. He was 8 months old....so flippin' cute!!!

June 2011

Summer is in full swing now. Jerra's pre-school is over and both girls are attending a Mother's Day Out Program at 1st Baptist Church on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri from 9:30-1:30 for the summer. They both really like it there - they do lots of fun crafts/projects and the playground is of course a big hit. Both girls will be attending the pre-school Jerra has been at for the last 2 years in the fall (Christ United Methodist Church) and I am the newest school board member for it (3 year term). We LOVE that place -- jerra has blossomed there and has learned so much. We are looking forward to having them both there in the Fall.

We spend our summer days trying to stay cool -- most afternoons the kiddie pools come out or we head to the neighborhood pool. The kids on the street play outside most evenings together and us adults just hang out in the shade.

Jorja is loving her new big sister status. She tells everyone its "my baby"

We spent an extended weekend in Grapevine at my parents house for a friends wedding. Jeff, April and Hailey were in town for it as well (Jeff was a groomsman). So Grandma had all her grandbabies with her at once. Trying to get a picture of 4 kids 4 and under is no easy feat -- this is the best one...

Geoff and Bradyn have taken to watching Astros games together in the evenings....Notice the burnt orange colored blanket Bradyn has -- its not a UT blanket, but an Astros one and he loves it!

Jerra is my dare-devil...not afraid of anything

Jerra has learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. She had been asking for a couple weeks for us to take them off. Once she finally got to try it it only took her a couple days to master it. Now she is speeding around our circle and is even trying "tricks" - there is no stopping that girl. We are pretty proud of her!

Jorja is just a joy. She is super sweet - but has a little devil in her as well. you have to watch out, cause that will come out when you least expect it! She is transitioning into the "terrible twos" and I think we are in for it with this one! she knows how to turn on the charm when she wants something....

Jorja is typically sweet with the dogs (here offerring Chance a treat). She does think its funny to pull their tails though....(again - sweet and not so sweet all wrapped into one child)
