June 2011

Summer is in full swing now. Jerra's pre-school is over and both girls are attending a Mother's Day Out Program at 1st Baptist Church on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri from 9:30-1:30 for the summer. They both really like it there - they do lots of fun crafts/projects and the playground is of course a big hit. Both girls will be attending the pre-school Jerra has been at for the last 2 years in the fall (Christ United Methodist Church) and I am the newest school board member for it (3 year term). We LOVE that place -- jerra has blossomed there and has learned so much. We are looking forward to having them both there in the Fall.

We spend our summer days trying to stay cool -- most afternoons the kiddie pools come out or we head to the neighborhood pool. The kids on the street play outside most evenings together and us adults just hang out in the shade.

Jorja is loving her new big sister status. She tells everyone its "my baby"

We spent an extended weekend in Grapevine at my parents house for a friends wedding. Jeff, April and Hailey were in town for it as well (Jeff was a groomsman). So Grandma had all her grandbabies with her at once. Trying to get a picture of 4 kids 4 and under is no easy feat -- this is the best one...

Geoff and Bradyn have taken to watching Astros games together in the evenings....Notice the burnt orange colored blanket Bradyn has -- its not a UT blanket, but an Astros one and he loves it!

Jerra is my dare-devil...not afraid of anything

Jerra has learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. She had been asking for a couple weeks for us to take them off. Once she finally got to try it it only took her a couple days to master it. Now she is speeding around our circle and is even trying "tricks" - there is no stopping that girl. We are pretty proud of her!

Jorja is just a joy. She is super sweet - but has a little devil in her as well. you have to watch out, cause that will come out when you least expect it! She is transitioning into the "terrible twos" and I think we are in for it with this one! she knows how to turn on the charm when she wants something....

Jorja is typically sweet with the dogs (here offerring Chance a treat). She does think its funny to pull their tails though....(again - sweet and not so sweet all wrapped into one child)
