our little one is growing up sooo fast! She is sitting up on her own, and trying so hard to crawl. She is going to be mobile any day now. She has been teething too, so I am expecting a tooth to pop out any day now...She LOVES to eat - her faves are avocados and sweet potatoes, but she loves her apples, pears, prunes, bananas, peas and squash as well. She is such a joy and we our really enjoying our time with her!

Let the brainwashing begin!
So we've already figured that Jerra will be a fightin' texas aggie class of 2029...so we took her this weekend to meet her future mascot - Ms Reveille! She wasn't all that intrested in meeting the collie - although Ms Rev sniffed her up and down - but at least she was awake for the picture! Its going to be fun teaching her all about aggieland!

Here's a cute collage made of Jerra:

catch up....

i have to play catch up here...so much has happened in the last month.
Jerra is getting so big! i can't believe how fast they grow...I've seen it with my friends kids, but until you watch your own baby grow before your eyes its hard to comprehend. i just love her more and more everyday...
Kristin and Tim flew in from Michigan to visit us at the end of February. It was nice to see them, I wish we all lived closer though....
Jeff flew in from Florida this past weekend to meet his niece for the first time as well...again, I wish we all lived closer....Jerra is going to be so loved by her family....

I can't seem to stop taking pictures of my little one....she is going to know how to pose for the camera at any early age!

1 month!
wow! I can't believe its been 1 month since our little jerra was born...time does fly by. she is growing already - I took her to the doc for a weight check yesterday and she was 9 pounds, 3 ounces....she is starting to become more alert to her surroundings - she likes looking at lights, but still not sleeping at night. She is a good baby - not real fussy and only cries when she wants something to be different (usually to be fed or burped). We love her more and more everyday. Aunt Kristin and Uncle Tim are coming from michigan in 2 weeks to see her and Uncle Jeff is coming from Florida in March. We can't wait for her to meet her aunt/uncles! Great-grandma eva is coming too, that will be so neat!

Jerra Catherine is here!
Our sweet angel decided to make her appearance 3 weeks prior to her due date - she was 37 weeks along to the day! I got up wednesday morning - Jan 10th - after spending the night slighly concerned in a decrease in fetal activity that I had been feeling. I called the Doc's and they told me to come in and get checked out. Feeling only slightly anxious, I got to the doc's around 8:30am. They hooked me up to the monitors and they showed she had a strong heartbeat, and that I was contracting every 9-10 minutes (i was only feeling some of them) and was dilated to a 1. Dr. Benson told me to come back at 1pm and see where things were then. Geoff and I arrived at 1, knowing that I still wasn't feeling her move as much as I ususally did during the day. I got hooked up to the machines again - her heartbeat was still good, but now the contractions were coming every 5-7 minutes and I was dilated to a 4. Dr Benson said, that everything was fine with her, but there was something going on causing the decrease in movements and he advised her immediate delivery. WHAT! After Geoff and I got over our inital shock we made our way to the hospital. I had an uncomplicated c-section, Jerra came out wailing and looking perfect! Geoff was great, he was so supportive of me the entire time. She was born at 5:43pm, weighing 6 lbs 15oz and 18 3/4 inches long. My parents rushed down from Ft Worth and Geoff's dad and becky arrived from Houston. After 2 days in the hospital we came home on Friday. Luckly my mom has been able to stay with us - I don't know how we would have gotten through this first week without her.
She is amazing and its so unreal having her here after all the months of her growing inside of me. We just can't stop staring at her and watching all her facial movements and wonder whats going on inside that little head of hers. Its going to be so much fun watching her grow. We are so in love!

New Year's Eve 2006

Well - this was the last new years for geoff and me before we become parents...just a few weeks away now! We went to Houston for the night - Geoff's friend Louis hosted a party at his downtown loft office building and there were tons of people there! I lasted until a little after midnight and then I headed over to Louis' condo to spend the night while the boys continued celebrating...I can't believe what a year 2006 was - a wedding, a new house and soon a new baby! 2007 should be just as exciting! We are looking forward to what the year holds!
