2 weeks...

Happy 2 weeks Jorja!

Your 2 week appt went great. You are gaining weight at rapid speed - 7.9 at birth, 6.15 when leaving hosptial and 8.2 at 2 weeks. Dr says you look wonderful and is very happy with things so far. The worst part was the heel stick, which you DID not like at all! But mom was there for some extra snuggles after it was all done and you quickly fell asleep....doc appts are exhausting!

I know from with Jerra that time with the kids goes by so fast, but I can't believe we are already into week 2...I feel like I was pregnant forever and couldn't wait for her to get here...now we are already 2 weeks in!

whatcha think!?

Do you think Geoff would let me decorate Jorja's room with this bedding!?...Maybe....if I can find something similar in Astros bedding and we alternated them! ha!

This should be the news....

This is what should be in the news everyday. Not people like Michael Jackson. A reminder that we are still at war, we still have men and women fighting everyday for our freedom. A fight we take for granted. They need to be honored.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia , just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and Americans no longer honor sacrifice. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful, grateful places. The link above is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored. Please share widely.

Introducing,...

Our new little daughter - Jorja Lynn.

We were scheduled to have our c-section today at 7:30am, but she was a little too impatient to wait! My water broke Wednesday night at 11pm. We were at the hospital a little after midnight and she was born at 1:50am. 7 pounds, 9 oz's - 21 inches. lots of dark hair and a loud set of lungs!

We are both doing good and expect to head home sometime tomorrow.

We'll post more information and pictures later, but just wanted to send out a quick introduction!

Updates...

I've been slacking on the posts lately...just been busy and trying to get ready for this baby #2 that is on its way THIS WEEK!

A couple saturdays ago, Geoff and Jerra washed cars...I thought it was too cute!

And Jerra's Godfather Case came in town for a visit...
Poppy Bill and Becky also came in town for a visit...

And we had our landscaping redone!

For those that follow our family thru our blog and don't live in texas...this has been a record breaking summer as far as the heat goes! It has been over 100 for weeks and we have been miserable! Especially me! 3rd trimester and 100+ weather do not mix! We spend most of our days indoors, only venturing out in the early morning hours or after dinner (when its still close to 100). I feel a bit stir-crazy most days, its even too hot to just go and run errands. And I have been running out of ideas to keep J entertained.

Baby #2 comes this week, as mentioned above. We are scheduled for a c-section on Friday July 10th at 7:30am. I will post updates and pictures just as soon as I can. I am going to have Geoff bring me the laptop at some point in time while at the hospital, so hopefully I will be able to post this weekend. We are ready to meet our new addition and maybe a little bit nervous at the same time.
